SUMMER STORAGE AT H MOVERS WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH AN INVENTORY SHEET LISTING YOUR STORED ITEMS. HOWEVER, PROPERLY LABELING THESE ITEMS IS CRUCIAL TO KEEPING YOUR ITEMS TOGETHER AND PREVENTING ANY LOSS.
EACH ITEM SHOULD BE PROPERLY LABELED WITH THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:
- First Name & Last Name
- Current Dorm
- Phone Number
- School Email
FEEL FREE TO WRITE YOUR INFORMATION DIRECTLY ON CARDBOARD BOXES
AND/OR CLEARLY WRITE YOUR INFORMATION ON A PIECE OF PAPER AND TAPE IT SECURELY TO EVERY ITEM.
PLEASE REMEMBER: EVERY ITEM-WHETHER IT’S A BOX OR A CHAIR-MUST BE PROPERLY LABELED!

PLEASE BE SURE TO NOT PACK THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
- ANYTHING FLAMMABLE: GASOLINE, PAINT THINNER, NAIL POLISH AND REMOVER, ETC.
- FOOD OR OTHER PERISHABLE ITEMS
- ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES OR WEAPONS
- EXPENSIVE JEWELRY, CASH OR COINS
- ANY OTHER HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
NOW THAT YOU’RE AWARE OF WHAT NOT TO PACK, HERE ARE SOME HELPFUL TIPS FOR PROPERLY PACKING YOUR ITEMS FOR SUMMER STORAGE:
- USE SMALLER BOXES FOR HEAVIER ITEMS SUCH AS BOOKS AND HEAVY CLOTHING
- USE LARGER BOXES FOR LIGHTER ITEMS SUCH AS PILLOWS AND BLANKETS
- BE SURE YOUR BOXES ARE NOT EXTREMELY HEAVY. BOXES ARE MUCH MORE LIKELY TO BURST OPEN IF OVERFILLED.
- MAKE SURE ALL BOXES ARE SEALED SHUT (WITH TAPE) ON BOTH TOP & BOTTOM OF BOXES
- MANY STUDENTS HAVE ROLLING CARTS WITH MULTIPLE DRAWERS. BE SURE TO TAPE DRAWERS SHUT IN ORDER TO HELP PREVENT ITEMS FROM SPILLING OUT. IT IS ALSO HELPFUL TO REMOVE THE WHEELS IF POSSIBLE AND TAPE THEM TO THE INSIDE OF THE DRAWER.
- LONG ITEMS SUCH AS BROOMS, UMBRELLAS AND SWIFFER MOPS CAN ALL BE TAPED TOGETHER. JUST BE SURE TO LABEL!
- LAMPS SHOULD BE DISASSEMBLED AND PACKED INTO BOXES
- MINI REFRIGERATORS/FREEZERS SHOULD BE UNPLUGGED, DEFROSTED, AND CLEANED AT LEAST 3 DAYS BEFORE YOUR PICK-UP DATE.
- MIRRORS SHOULD BE BUBBLE-WRAPPED AND LABELED
